Who We Are

Peace is a Christian Church established in North Portland in 1892.  We are Christians that believe in the teachings of Martin Luther, The Holy Trinity, The Holy Bible and the sacrament of Holy Communion.  We believe that  Jesus died on the cross for us and therefore through God's grace we are saved.

We are a body of Christians working together to help bring people to Christ through his teachings,  We believe and confess the Apostles Creed, the Nicene Creed and the Lords prayer. We follow the teaching of the Martin Luther and the Small Catechism  We come together in prayer and pray for our broken world, and our broken selves.

God proved His love on the Cross.

When Christ hung, and bled,

and died, it was God saying to the world,

"I love you"

Holy Communion

for the forgiveness of sin

The sacrament are pointed out by the

words, given and shed for you for the

remission of sins.  These words assure

us that in the sacrament we receive forgiveness of sins, life, and salvation.

For where there is forgiveness of sins,

there is also life and salvation.

Holy Communion

We are to receive these gifts of bread and wine, of Christ's body and blood, in faith, trusting that in this meal our Lord comes to us, forgives us our sins, renews us in faith and leads us into new life.

Weekly communion is offered to all who believe and are seeking forgiveness.
